A chairde, friends, welcome to Fizz & Chips: a creative collective based across Ireland and the UK, making collaborative work while interrogating and exploring socially-engaged themes in a fun and theatrical manner. Much of our work is devised and we enjoy working across multiple disciplines such as theatre, writing, dance, film, and music, in the English and Irish languages.
The Fizz & Chips core team comprises Martha Fitzgerald, Orlaith Ní Chearra and Lindsey Woods. We co-direct the vision of the collective and since 2018, we have produced 6 shows to date, 5 digital performances, a radio play, a short film, a creative podcast, an annual Culture Night event, and facilitated workshops in dance, drama, and creative writing. We have toured nationally and internationally with our work, receiving awards in Ireland, the UK and the USA.
We make work for audiences of all ages and are passionate about making our work more inclusive and supporting other artists by regularly holding open calls and open auditions. We often work with new artists on various projects which we think is important for both our own development and keeping the industry accessible to all. Our Team.
Fizz & Chips is a creative collective run by Martha Fitzgerald, Orlaith Ní Chearra, and Lindsey Woods. We first met in 2016 as performers touring around Europe on a 9-month contract. At the end of the tour, we decided we wanted to continue working together and started devising our first show "Dragon" as a work-in-progress musical for the 2018 Scene + Heard Festival in Dublin. When we got together to devise, write or discuss creative projects, we always had some sort of fizzy beverage and chips to eat thus Fizz & Chips was born. After that, the rest is history and we've been making work with some Fizz & Chips ever since!
